Alexis Ercia
Partner | Workers' Compensation & Personal Injury | Tampa Native
Practice Areas:
- Workers’ Compensation
- Labor and Employment
- Disability Claims
Alexis Ercia was born and raised in Tampa. She has spent her legal career representing injured workers in the same community she grew up in — the construction sites, service industry workplaces, and trades environments that define the Tampa Bay workforce she knows firsthand.
The workers who get hurt most often in Tampa Bay are the ones doing the most physically demanding jobs — construction, trades, transportation, service industry, port and logistics work. Alexis grew up around that workforce. She understands what it means to file a workers' comp claim while worrying about how rent gets paid, whether the employer will retaliate, and whether the process is designed for someone who looks and sounds like you.
Her claimant-side focus means she has spent her legal career on one side of the table — the side that represents people, not carriers. When she evaluates a claim, she's thinking about what the carrier is going to argue and how to get ahead of it. When she prepares a client for an IME or a deposition, she's thinking about how that client's words and medical record will be used against them — and how to make sure they aren't.
She is fully bilingual in Spanish and English. For Spanish-speaking clients, that means something that goes beyond bilingual intake forms: an attorney who conducts your entire case in your language, understands the cultural context you're navigating, and grew up in the same Tampa community you call home.
